typography

lexi zotov spends too much time alone attempting to figure out the world.

art helps her communicate and organize her thoughts, ideas and musings without actually speaking them. as an avid writer of poetry and short stories, lexi is constantly scribbling or doodling what is going on in her head in one of her many black notebooks. after seeing the film “helvetica,” she realized that her love of fonts, words, and type sets could actually turn into a career, instead of just a passion. typography soon became less of a hobby, and more of her future.  by creating her art, lexi feels as if she can convey her true feelings when she can’t figure out how to exactly speak her mind. she works with mostly black ink fountain pens, and has recently started exploring illustrator and photoshop. she enjoys constantly blogging, comic books, tattoos, wearing high heels, losing track of time in art museums, walking in the rain, eating grapefruit, watching people on the subway, reading peculiar books, designing clothing, and spending long empty hours at thrift stores and small vacant cafes that play quiet acoustic music and serve cheap coffee.

art is her emotional rescue, and through it, you can take a look into her head, heart and life.
